Searching for Christmas

Big Idea of the Series: This three-week series explores how understanding the joy and power of Christmas involves more than simply talking about Jesus or insisting the local store greeter says, “Merry Christmas!” Instead, it means applying Jesus’s message of hope and reconciliation to our everyday lives

Week 2

Text: Matthew 1:18–25

Topic: The Gospel, Redemption, Incarnation, Christmas

Big Idea of the Text: Jesus is no ordinary baby, but literally “God with us.”

Application Point: Jesus’s birth is a life-changing event that should give our lives purpose and direction.

Lunch will be served after our morning service.

The Tempos performance choir is comprised of blind and partially-sighted singers. When the group was formed about 8 years ago, the purpose was to coach blind/partially-sighted young people in areas where we vision teachers run out of time during the school day.  These include social interaction with others, how to be part of an audience, performance skills such as appearance and facial expressions,  and so on.  Music was the common ground to bring everyone together to work on this list of very important skills.
